Rock Falls man gets 26 years for assaulting girl

OREGON – A Rock Falls man was sentenced to 26 years in prison for sexually assaulting a girl in Polo almost 6 years ago.

Eddie Johnson, 49, pleaded guilty to criminal sexual assault Monday in Ogle County Court. As part of his plea agreement, five counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child younger than 13 and five counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child 13 to 16 were dismissed.

He assaulted the girl several times over a period of several months in 2007, Ogle County State’s Attorney Michael C. Rock said. Charges were filed on Dec. 2, 2010.
