At this time of year, some people think of the Super Bowl halftime entertainment and all the activity that goes along with it. Hands in the air, shouts of support, refreshments, friends and celebration.

Competitive sports are one thing, but gathering together – there's another kind of celebration. It shows appreciation for the many blessings our Lord and savior has given us.

“Taking Back the City” was a revival that took place Feb. 1-2 at Rock Falls Community Building at 601 W. 10th St. in Rock Falls. Two local men, Evangelist Mike Hubbard and Pastor Dennis Hurd, organized this event and, to say the least, it was exhilarating.
