LANARK – JoAnn Weber, 81, of Lanark, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Good Samaritan Society – Mount Carroll. She was a bus driver for the Lanark and later Eastland school district for 27 years, retiring in 1992.

JoAnn was born April 20, 1931, in Mount Carroll, the daughter of J.G. and Geneva (Borreson) Asay. JoAnn married Lawrence Weber on Nov. 21, 1949, in Chadwick. Lawrence died Oct. 18, 2008. She was a longtime member of Lanark United Methodist Church. JoAnn loved spending time with her family, friends, and her dog, Smokey.

JoAnn will be dearly missed by her children, Jane (Mike) Manske of Park Falls, Wis., Larry Weber of Mount Carroll, Linda (Dick Bodine) Coomes of Urbana, Beth (Gary) Cook of Rock Falls, and Tom (Judy) Weber of Lanark; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence; one sister, Arlene Derrer; and one brother, Guy Asay.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Lanark United Methodist Church. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Larry Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Lanark Cemetery. Law-Jones Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

A memorial fund has been established.
