STERLING – Catherine M. Rinehart, 100, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at her home. She was an operating room aide at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, retiring in 1974.

Catherine was born Dec. 17, 1912, in Sterling, the daughter of Francis and Zana (Rogers) Keefe. She married Ernest V. Rinehart on Oct. 30, 1931, in Aurora. He preceded her in death in March 1989.  

Survivors include one son, John Rinehart of Rock Falls; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Zana Whipple and Betty Landacker; one sister, Marjorie Wessels; and one grandson.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m., Friday at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling, with the Rev. Jeff Coester, pastor of First Congregational Church of Sterling, officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.

A memorial has been established to The Salvation Army in Sterling.
