Shirley L. Maes

PROPHETSTOWN – Shirley L. Maes, 70, of Prophetstown, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at her home.

She was born March 31, 1942, in Monroe, Neb., the daughter of Everett and Mabel (Warnke) Church. Shirley was educated in the Prophetstown grade schools. She married Robert E. Maes on April 15, 1959, in Prophetstown. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2011. Shirley was a homemaker, and cleaned homes for several families in the Prophetstown area. She was a member of Advent Christian Church in Prophetstown.

Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Maes of Prophetstown and Connie (Martin) Stern of Lyndon; two grandchildren, Nicholas (Erin) Stern and Jennifer (Ryan Mose) Stern, both of Erie; one sister, Betty (Ronnie) Thomas of Davenport, Iowa; one brother, Jim Church of Lyndon; and many nieces and nephews.
