Gallery asks for $10,000
Board member: TNPS brings thousands to city
DIXON – The Next Picture Show is asking the City Council to pitch in.
The nonprofit fine arts center asked Monday for $10,000 from the city’s 2013-2014 budget. No action was taken, but Mayor Jim Burke said the city will consider the proposal when it meets later this month to start budget talks.
Sandy Schuler, a member of The Next Picture Show’s board of directors, said the gallery and fine arts center is responsible “for bringing thousands of visitors downtown.” TNPS hosts exhibits, special events, workshops and classes.
