Thieves steal jewelry, collectibles

ROCK FALLS – Police are looking for help solving a residential burglary in which $5,000 to $10,000 worth of jewelry and collectibles were taken.

Police received a report of a break-in in the 1400 block of 14th Avenue about 11 a.m. Monday. The burglar or burglars kicked in a door and stole a gun, coin and baseball card collections and a lot of jewelry, all worth $5,000 to $10,000, Cmdr. Tammy Nelson said.

The break-in was discovered by relatives of the homeowners, who were out of town, and seems to have happened in the past day or two, Nelson said.
