Fire department member gather at station

MANLIUS – Justin Doty, president, opened the January meeting of the Manlius Fire Department at the fire hall on Maple Avenue.

Aaron Roush, fire chief, presented a 5-year service pin to Doty. Samantha Neahring was voted in as a member, and a thank-you note was received from Bureau County United Way for the department's donation to the Christmas for Kids Toy Drive.

A donation check was received from Doris Neahring and another from Roger Hansen because of a recent fire. It was noted that breakfast would be served from 7 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Walnut Fire Staiton, 115 Liberty St.

Mitch Doty and Rob Allen won attendance awards.

The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 14 at the firehouse. The lunch committee is Greg Allen and Larry Lee Rowland.
