TAMPICO – Jesse O. Leathers, 78, of Tampico, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Trinity West Medical Center in Rock Island. He worked for Ron Wolf farms for nearly 40 years.  

Jesse was born May 20, 1934, in Orchardville, the son of Emery and Sylvia (Williamson) Leathers. He served in the Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by a brother, Jack (Kathy) Leathers of Tampico; sisters Ella Mae (Chester) Clevenger of Tampico and Noma Lawrence of Geff; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marian Clark and niece Kimberly Clark.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Walnut, with the Rev. David Menet, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Cemetery with military rites accorded by the Walnut American Legion Post 179.
