LEE COUNTY

Wednesday

DOMESTIC BATTERY CASE: Andrew C. Fassler, 41, of Dixon; charged with aggravated domestic battery, a felony. Police say Fassler threw his son, then 9, down the stairs on Oct. 1, 2009, and broke his arm. 

On the docket: Pretrial conference, during which the judge and attorneys will discuss matters concerning the case and set a trial schedule.

SEX ASSAULT CASE: Russell A. Frey, 36, of Dixon; charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault. Police say Frey had sex with a 12-year-old girl in January 2012.

On the docket: Pretrial conference. 

MURDER CASE: Brian C. Sigler, 34, of Dixon; charged with first-degree murder. Police say Sigler strangled his wife, Yolanda, 34, then tried to kill himself in their home on Jan. 13. 

On the docket: Status hearing.

Thursday

BATTERY/INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER CASE: Charles T. George, 35, of Dixon; charged with two counts of aggravated battery of a child, aggravated domestic battery, and involuntary manslaughter. Police say George shook his 3-month-old daughter, Tamari, in September 2010. The girl died several days later from blunt-force trauma to the head.

On the docket: Pretrial conference.

BURGLARY CASE: Mitchell R. Jacobson, 25, of Rochelle; charged with burglary. Police say Jacobson and another man broke into an Ashton bar on Nov. 19 and stole bottles of alcohol. 

Jacobson also is charged with two counts of burglary in connection with Nov. 9 break-ins at Dave’s Automotive and Ashton Foods.

On the docket: Pretrial conference.

CHILD ABUSE CASE: Naylor L. Rice, 18, of Dixon; charged with aggravated battery of a child, aggravated domestic battery, and misdemeanor criminal sexual abuse. Police say Rice grabbed a 1-year-old and pulled her, breaking her arm, and had sex with the girl’s mother, who is 15.

On the docket: Pretrial conference.

Friday

DRUG CASE: Salvatore Ferlauto, 50, of Dixon; charged with delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a church, delivery of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance. Police say Ferlauto sold Xanax to an informant in October.

On the docket: Pretrial conference.

WHITESIDE COUNTY

Wednesday

THEFT CASE: Terry G. Gibbs, 35, of Rock Falls, and Steven K. Argraves, 40, of Sterling, charged with burglary. Gibbs also is charged with theft. Police say they stole scrap metal from a rural Sterling business on Jan. 22 and sold it for cash.
