Hospital to offer health clinics

MENDOTA – An immunization clinic will be Feb. 20 at Mendota Community Hospital, 1401 E. 12th St.

The morning session from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. will be for Public Aid and uninsured patients. The 1 to 3 p.m. session will be for those whose insurance covers immunizations at 100 percent. Both sessions will be in Conference Room C on the Medical Office Building side of the hospital.

Public Aid patients and those without insurance will receive vaccines through the Vaccines for Children program.

The cost is $15 and must be paid at the time of the immunization.

Parents must bring a child’s immunization record and their Public Aid or insurance card to the clinic.

If a parent or guardian is not with the child, a signed consent form is required.

Appointments are necessary for either session. Call 815-538-7232 for appointments or more information.

The next clinic will be April 17.

Other clinics offered by appointment only are:

■ Free foot screenings from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday in the community health services department of the hospital.

Dr. Elie Daniel, an area podiatrist, will administer the exams. The screenings are for anyone who is having foot problems, as long as they are not under the care of a physician for foot issues. If applicable, a plan of treatment will be recommended.

■ A Hemoglobin A1c clinics will be from 6 to 10 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Feb. 20 at the hospital.

A1c is a blood test that shows overall blood sugar over the past 3 months. Fasting is not required.

The cost is $20, payable the date of the test. The results will be available in 10 minutes.
