FULTON – Barbara B. Hand, 86, of Fulton, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Amanda’s Care Home in Mesa, Ariz. She worked as a cosmetologist for 42 years.

She was born Oct. 20, 1926, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Calvin and Helen (Matthews) Schumaker. She married LaVerne Vogel. He died. She married Thomas J. Hand on March 15, 1989, in Fulton. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulton.

Survivors include her husband, Tom; two sons, Mark (Cathy) Vogel of LeClaire, Iowa, and James Vogel of Fulton; three stepchildren, Mike (Karen) Hand of Fulton, Peggy Hand of Prescott Valley, Ariz., and James J. Hand of Fulton; one sister-in-law, Rosalie Bellich of Thomson; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Marjorie Bower; and a stepdaughter, Jean Hand.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at McDonald Funeral Home in Fulton. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Albany with the Rev. David Austin, celebrant, officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fulton.

A memorial will be established.
