DIXON – Mary Jesse Caudillo, 81, formerly of Sterling, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at KSB Hospital in Dixon. She was employed by Dixon State School as a caregiver for many years.

Mary was born May 22, 1931, in Malakoff, Texas, the daughter of Paul Garcia and Petra (Barron) Garcia. She married Manuel Caudillo on July 24, 1948, in Sterling. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1982.    

Survivors include four daughters, Rita M. (Charles) Thompson of Dixon, Sally A. Caudillo of Sterling, Patty Jo (Gary) Dowding of Rock Falls, and Monica Lynn Caudillo of Hillsboro, Ore.; one daughter-in-law, Anita Caudillo of Rock Falls; three sons, Manuel Lorenzo (Madelene) Caudillo and Richard A. Caudillo, both of Sterling, and Mark F. (Maria) Caudillo of DeKalb; two sisters, Ramona (Frank) Delgado of Rock Falls and Paulette (Mike) Hamas of Dixon; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, David; two brothers, Lorenzo in infancy and Frank Garcia; and one sister, Mary Ruth Sandoval.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 1 to 3:45 p.m., followed by the funeral at 4 p.m., Sunday at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling, with the Rev. Dalmus Meeks, pastor of Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls, officiating.

A memorial has been established to Whiteside DaVita.
