Classes to be on Valentine’s Day

STERLING – Woodlawn Arts Academy, 3807 Woodlawn Road, will offer weekend classes to celebrate St. Valentine’s Day.

A Valentine’s dinner will feature a cooking class for couples 18 and over. The cost is $50 per couple.

The students will make and share a dinner in the farmhouse at the academy. The meal will be grilled filet of beef with herb butter and natural jus, Yukon gold whipped potatoes, mixed greens with homemade balsamic vinaigrette, and double chocolate brownies. Participants are asked to bring their own beverage.

Children 3 to 13 can put on their pajamas and bring sleeping bags and a pillow to watch the movie, “Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown.”

After the show, they will make a craft, learn a Valentine’s Day song with creative movements, and have a snack. The cost is $7.50.

Both classes are from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 16. Registration is due by Feb. 12, and is available online at activenet.active.com/woodlawnarts or by calling the academy at 815-626-4278. Registration also can be done in person from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays, and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
