Teresa M. Nelson

STILLMAN VALLEY – Teresa M. Nelson, 61, of Stillman Valley, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. 

She was born July 15, 1951, in Dixon, the daughter of John and Leona (Petrie) Babich. She married Arthur H. Nelson on Oct. 6, 2001, in Byron; he also died in the accident. Teresa worked at Pierce Bio-Tech in Rockford for more than 10 years. She loved the outdoors, gardening, birds, kayaking, camping, traveling, watching movies, and yard sales.

She is survived by her sons, Timothy Taylor and Ty (Ellen) Taylor, both of Oregon, Chris Bowen of Madison Heights, Mich., T.J. (Amy) Taylor of Waterman, and Troy Taylor of Hillside; stepson, Matthew Nelson of Santa Barbara, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; mother, Leona Babich of Ashton; sister, Sandra (David) Spaine of Polo; and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her father; and a brother, John Michael Babich. 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by the funeral at 1 p.m., Saturday at Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. Seventh St., Oregon, with the Rev. Jonathan Black officiating. Burial will be at Daysville Cemetery in rural Oregon.
