CHICAGO (AP) — Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor is to speak in Chicago about her new memoir.

Sotomayor is scheduled to give remarks at the Chicago Public Library's Harold Washington Library Center in downtown Chicago on Wednesday night. Her memoir is called "My Beloved World." The book was released Jan. 16. In the book she discusses having diabetes, her decision not to have children and her feelings about affirmative action.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel plans to attend. Sotomayor is on a book tour of about a dozen American cities.

Sotomayor is the first Hispanic justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. President Barack Obama nominated her in May 2009 and the 58-year-old took the position in August 2009.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor was one of the minority to rule in the Albert Florence case. - In a truly horrific miscarriage of justice and assault on personal liberties, the majority of the Supreme Court ruled that people arrested, even for misdemeanors can be subject to strip searches!! The majority stated that the police could be trusted with this power, when THIS case CLEARLY shows they couldn't. Mr Florence was held for 7 days-in TWO different jails! This case reeks of abuse. - I am glad Justice Sotomayor was one that DID rule against this obvious abuse.

Sometimes readers ask for more good news in the paper. They say we in the media only cover the bad. But one person's positive is another's negative.

My kind of game

I would have gladly paid to take in the game I covered Saturday morning in Morrison.
