AMBOY – For a budding actor, appearing in a national TV commercial is a big deal.

But 27-year-old Amboy native Larissa Lynch isn’t appearing in just any commercial – she’s starring in an ad that will air Sunday.

During Super Bowl XLVII.

In front of 140 million people.

Lynch will be playing a bride in a 30-second Century 21 commercial.

“It’s kind of a cute spot, not one of those laugh out loud Super Bowl commercials that you sometimes see,” she said Tuesday from her home in Los Angeles.

“I play a bride whose fiance isn’t looking forward to living with her mother after they get married. They need a Century 21 agent to come to the rescue.”

This will be her biggest gig to date. The 2003 Amboy High grad has appeared in a couple of other commercials and in the horror movie “The House with 100 Eyes.”

She graduated from the Chicago College of Performing Arts, where she studied acting and theater, but film and TV are her real passions. That’s why she moved to Los Angeles, where she is living the stereotypical actor’s dream: waitressing while waiting to be discovered.

So she’s hoping the Century 21 commercial, filmed in LA 3 weeks ago, will lead to other appearances. She just found out about a week ago that the commercial would air on TV, let alone during the third quarter of the Super Bowl.

“I was wary of telling anybody, because I was not sure,” she said. “You never know until you actually see it.”

Her parents, Terry Lynch of Sterling and Janet Lynch of Dixon, are “pretty excited.”

“I had to call my mom, and she sounded like she wanted to cry. It was pretty funny,” Lynch said. “Being in a Super Bowl is a dream for an actor. This is a pretty big deal.”
