Lacey, of Orlando, Fla., began writing poetry as a fifth-grader. Her inspiration comes from her own triumphs and tragedies, colored by her good-humored personality.

The University of Central Florida graduate has released two CDs: “AWay with Words” and “Lady Brings the Blues.”
