Amateur astronomer to speak
FULTON – “Stargazing Along the Lincoln Highway” will be the subject of the next Volunteer Miller program at 6 p.m. Monday at the Windmill Cultural Center, 111 10th Ave. The center is handicap accessible.
Jim Rutenbeck, who lives near Cordova, will share information about the solar system, galaxies, and elements of the night sky as seen in the area. He will explain about sizes and distances in the universe. During the program, he will show his photographs, as well as some taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. Rutenbeck has been an amateur astronomer for more than 50 years, and is a member of the Quad Cities Astronomical Society.
Refreshments will be served after the presentation. There is no charge to attend.
