Library gets ready for February
ROCK FALLS – Rock Falls Public Library, 1007 Seventh Ave., will start the month off with Rocket Readers on Monday.
The program is for children in kindergarten through fourth grade from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. Registration is required. Rocket Readers also will be Feb. 11 and 25.
Other programs include:
Wednesday: Valentine’s Storytime from 4 to 4:30 p.m. The group, age 5 and older, will read Valentine’s Day stories and make cards. Registration is required. Craft Club also will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. the same day and Feb. 20.
Thursday: Mystery Book Club will be at 10 a.m. The selection is “Where Memories Lie,” by Deborah Crombie.
Feb. 11: The Rock Falls Public Library Board of Directors meets at 6:30 p.m.
Feb. 12 and 19: Basic computer class from 1 to 3 p.m.
Feb. 25 and 27: Introduction to Word class from 1 to 3 p.m. Covers Microsoft Word. These computer classes are limited to 12 people. Registration is required. The classes are made possible by an Eliminate the Digital Divide grant, awarded by the Illinois State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State, using money provided by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to the Sterling Public Library.
Feb. 18: Closed for Presidents’ Day.
Feb. 21: Pancakes Storytime from 4 to 4:30 p.m. for ages 4 to 6. Storytime about pancakes and making some to take home. Registration is required.
Feb. 28: Messy Playtime from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sand crafts, finger paints, and play dough add to the fun. Free tickets available at the library front desk.
All month: Winter Reading Program: – Reading is Sweet will continue until March 1.
Families register by picking up a log sheet at the library. One log sheet per person. Bring the log sheet to record activities and receive prizes. To register for programs, call 815-626-3958 or stop at the library.
