Mary Ellen Webb

DIXON – Mary Ellen Elybeth Webb, 92, of Dixon, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at home surrounded by her family, following an extended illness.

Mary Ellen worked for Electric and Gas Co. of Dixon, and she and her husband owned and operated Webb’s Soda Grill, Webb’s Grocery Store, and Webb’s Appliance and TV Repair, all in Dixon. She was a Realtor for many years and sold State Farm insurance along with her husband for more than 30 years.

Mary Ellen was born Nov. 3, 1920, in Mendota, the daughter of William George and Hazel Elybeth (Parsons) Karras. She married Darrell Earl Franklin Webb on Aug. 30, 1947, in Mendota. He preceded her in death in October 1996. She was a member of Foursquare Church in Dixon for 47 years and recently attended Assembly of God Church in Dixon. Mary Ellen was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Dixon Senior Center.
