DIXON – David J. Lahey, 81, of Dixon, died Saturday Jan. 26, 2012, at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center.

He had been employed as a radiology technician and a nurse in Dixon and Arizona prior to his retirement.

He was born Aug. 14, 1931, in Dixon, the son of John P. and Frances (Edwards) Lahey. He married Julie Near; she preceded him in death on Oct. 23, 2009. 

He was a Navy veteran.

He is survived by sons David (Tammy) Lahey, Phil (Dee) Lahey, and Michael (Danielle) Lahey, all of Dixon, and Andrew (Katy) Lahey, of Viejo, Calif.; daughters Maureen (Martin) Eccles and Colleen Lahey, both of Dixon, and Megan (Ryan) Ayers, of Germantown Hills; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters Frances “Tancy” Dempsey of Dixon and Jeanne Nelles of Las Vegas; and his first wife, Anne Lahey of Dixon.

He also was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Judy Vaile.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home in Dixon with a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m. Cremation rites will follow with burial of cremains at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.

A memorial has been established.
