Boys roundup: Cougars pull out win in Pinckneyville
Warriors lose in Maple Park; Prophets claim Ottens Shootout victory
Skylar Paulson’s basket with 1.5 seconds remaining lifted the Eastland boys basketball team to a 43-41 victory over Goreville on Saturday at the Pinckneyville Shootout.
Paulson led the Cougars (18-3) with 13 points and 10 rebounds, and was named the game’s MVP. Dalton Shaner and Austin Hansen chipped in with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Blake Gray scored 11 points for the Blackcats, who slipped to 17-4.
Kaneland 60, Sterling 33: Zach Rehmert scored 16 points for the Golden Warriors (9-13) in a loss to the Knights in Maple Park.
