OREGON – An Oregon man was arrested Saturday and charged with the armed robbery of the town’s Dollar General store about 14 hours earlier.

Brian J. Clements, 23, also is charged with possession of firearms or ammunition without a FOID card, and was in Ogle County Jail on $100,000 bond, Oregon Police said in a news release.

Police were called to a reported armed robbery at the store at 1050 W. Pines Road at 6:38 p.m. Friday, where a man had entered the store, displayed a weapon and fled on a bicycle with an undisclosed amount of money.

A suspect was identified during the investigation, and at 4 a.m., police conducted a search warrant at 803 Adams St., where they found evidence tied to the robbery, the release said.

Oregon police arrested Clements at 9 a.m. Saturday.
