GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. –  Grace Postema Vander Ploeg, 88, of Grand Rapids, Mich., formerly of Morrison, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, after a battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was a seamstress.

She was born Oct. 4, 1924, in the Netherlands.

Surviving are her children, Arie (Rosa Perez) van der Ploeg and Barbara (David) Wiebenga; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; her sister, Leen van der Ploeg of the Netherlands; and many nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; and her brothers.

The family will greet friends from noon to 2 p.m., followed by the funeral at 2 p.m., today at Stroo Funeral Home in Grand Rapids. Local graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, with the Rev. Gerald Norman officiating. Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison is handling local arrangements.

A memorial has been established to Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison.
