Published: Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 1:15 a.m. CST

DIXON – Tickets are on sale now for a 50/50 raffle to benefit Granny Rose Animal Shelter.

Tickets are $5, or 3 for $10, or 7 for $20, and are available at the shelter, River Ridge Animal Hospital, Vegas Sun and Oliver’s Corner Market in Dixon, and Knie Appliance and Tuff Dog Bakery in Sterling.

Last year’s winner took home more than $1,500.

The drawing will be held at 5 p.m. March 2 at the fourth annual Top Dog fundraiser, proceeds from which benefit the nonprofit, no-kill shelter. The winner need not be present.

Events will run from 10 a.m. until about 6 p.m. at Dixon Elks Lodge, 1279 Franklin Grove Road. There will be a Texas Hold’em poker tournament, a bags tournament, a silent auction, a prize wheel, food and drink.

The Jack Daniels Girls will be on hand, and DJ Steve Lopez of Lasting Impressions will provide the music.

Donations for the silent auction still are needed.

Call Rudy Rutherford, 815-440-4096, for more information or to donate.
