Owner: Fiesta Cancun likely to open within a month

STERLING – I've now heard it from the horse's mouth.

Fiesta Cancun Authentic Mexican Restaurant in Sterling probably will open in the next month, co-owner Ismael "Mario" Lopez said Tuesday.

And guess where he was when he relayed this bit of information.

In the Sterling restaurant with a couple of other men, working to get it ready. The restaurant at 3203 E. Lincolnway now has designs on the windows, and some booths are in place.

Wise saw collapse in support

Last week, Sterling Alderwoman Amy Viering attended her last meeting as a city official. She gave the usual praise one hears at such departures. But one compliment stuck out. At the end of her speech, she turned to City Administrator Scott Shumard and said, "You're awesome."
