Inauguration story buried inside paper

Published: Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 1:15 a.m. CST

I read two daily papers, the Rockford Register Star and the Daily Gazette. On Jan. 22, after the inauguration of our president, the Rockford paper had a front-page article and color pictures of the day in Washington. However, the Gazette chose to bury the inauguration on page A13, and it was quite short at that.

The Sterling paper chose to publish an article concerning a dog park, and the headline was about the Dixon murder; that story had occupied the headline several times in the last 2 weeks.

Can't help but wonder whether it was politics or prejudice?
