Eastland girls knock off NUIC West-leading Stockton
Cougars make move
Eastland crept closer to the top of the Northwest Upstate Illini West standings after its 55-44 victory over Stockton on Wednesday in Lanark.
Courtney Walker hit four 3-pointers and led the Cougars (18-7, 7-2) with 14 points. Izy Todd finished with 10 points, and Hannah Hake added nine.
Brooke Beneventi paced the Blackhawks (17-5, 8-1) with 14 points, and Emily Langfield added 13.
Milledgeville 49, Warren 44: Courtney Swalve scored 25 points to lead the Missiles past the Warriors in Warren.
Also for Milledgeville (5-15), Kayleigh Leddy had 11 points. Allison Kubat had 19 points for Warren (0-17).
Panthers take two: Erie-Prophetstown won a pair of home matches, 45-24 against Sherrard and 41-30 against Orion.
Dylan Binion (152 pounds) was the lone double winner for the Panthers.
Warriors finish second: DeKalb (147.5) topped Sterling (108.5) and Morris (68) in a 3-team meet at the Duis Center.
Keaton Dir and Keanu Interone led the Golden Warriors with a pair of wins apiece. Dir took the 200 (1 minute 52.32 seconds) and 500 freestyle races (4:57.96), while Interone led the way in the 100 butterfly (55.97) and 100 breaststroke (1:00.04).
Also taking first for Sterling was Tanner Morse in the 1-meter diving (168.3 points).
