LEE COUNTY

Thursday

SEX ABUSE/EXPLOITATION CASE: Christopher S. Brown, 19, of Amboy; charged with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and one count of sexual exploitation. Police say Brown engaged in many sexual acts with a 13-year-old girl between May and July, at least two of which happened in front of an 11-year-old girl. 

He also is charged with two counts of tattooing the body of a minor, a misdemeanor, in an unrelated case. Police say Brown, a registered sex offender, gave tattoos to two 16-year-old girls in August. 

On the docket: Pretrial conference, during which the judge and attorneys will discuss matters concerning the case and set a trial schedule.

CHILD BATTERY CASE: Eric L. Ellis, 28, of Dixon; charged with aggravated battery of a child and aggravated domestic battery. Police say Ellis punched a 2-year-old girl in the stomach on Aug. 2, which resulted in the need for surgery.

On the docket: Pretrial conference.

BATTERY/INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER CASE: Charles T. George, 35, of Dixon; charged with two counts of aggravated battery of a child, aggravated domestic battery, and involuntary manslaughter. Police say George shook his 3-month-old daughter, Tamari, in September 2010. The girl died several days later from blunt-force trauma to the head.

On the docket: Pretrial conference.

ROBBERY/BATTERY CASE: Karl E. Ketchum III, 17, of Dixon; charged with aggravated robbery, robbery, and aggravated battery. Police say Ketchum and three others battered a drug dealer and hit him with a car on Aug. 31.

On the docket: Pretrial conference.

CHILD/SEX ABUSE CASE: Naylor L. Rice, 18, of Dixon; charged with aggravated battery of a child, aggravated domestic battery, and misdemeanor criminal sexual abuse. Police say Rice grabbed and pulled a 1-year-old, breaking her arm, and had sex with the girl’s mother, who is 15.

On the docket: Pretrial conference.

WHITESIDE COUNTY

Wednesday

BURGLARY CASE: Stephen M. Sato, 32, and Julie Korotkov, 37, both of Chicago; charged with two counts of burglary. Police say they burglarized Dollar General stores in Fulton and Morrison in December and January. 

On the docket: Arraignment, in which a defendant is formally charged with an offense.
