Prep roundup: Hawks overcome forfeits, edge Byron at home
Despite absorbing four of a Big Northern dual’s five forfeits, the Oregon Hawks edged Byron 36-33 on Tuesday in Oregon.
Oregon (11-11 in duals) earned three pins – all in the final 1 minute, 15 seconds of regulation – and only surrendered one to the Tigers. The Hawks won eight of the 10 contested matches, ending with John Brink’s 14-11 decision over Ross Sealby in the 220-pound match.
Rock Falls sweeps in Alleman: Tibs Cervantes, who recently returned from an ankle injury, won handily in both of the Rockets’ lopsided victories.
