TAMPICO – Margaret E. Glassburn, 94, of Tampico, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Good Neighbor Care in Sterling. She was a waitress at Tampico restaurants for many years.

Margaret was born July 28, 1918, in New Bedford, the daughter of William and Kathryn (Tully) Smith. She married Gordon Glassburn on Dec. 21, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1978. She was a member of Tampico United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one sister, Evelyn (Jack) Egan of Sterling; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and one sister.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Tampico United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Esther Lee, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Tampico Memorial Cemetery. 

A memorial has been established to Tampico United Methodist Church and Tampico Historical Society.
