STERLING – Donald E. “Pete Dutchman” Meyer, 86, of Sterling, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at his home. He was employed by Chicago and Northwestern Railroad for several years before retiring.

He was born April 14, 1926, in Rock Falls, the son of Fred and Laura (Bunzen) Meyer. He had served in the military.

Survivors include many friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, David.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by the funeral at 10 a.m., Saturday at McDonald Funeral Home, 505 First Ave., Sterling, with the Rev. Bob Hasslebring officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.
