POLO – Jacqueline M. Carroll, 69, of Polo, passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at her home with family by her side.
Jackie was born July 16, 1943, in Forreston, the daughter of Jack McKean and Yvonne “Pete” (Smith) McKean.
She was united in marriage to Norman Carroll on May 2, 1964, in Polo. She was a beautician for 20 years and owned Jackie’s Beauty Shoppe. Subsequently, she worked for Johnson Oil “Shell” in Polo for more than 13 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Polo Chamber of Commerce, Mount Morris Women’s Moose, and Crossroads Community Church. Since retirement, she pursued her love of cooking by opening Gramma Jack’s Back 40 Deli until her health forced her to close. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to all.
Survivors include her husband, Norman; stepfather, John Hackett of Polo; daughter, Shelli (Randy) Wolf of Polo; sons, Scott (Frank Bua) Carroll of New York and Steven (Jon Huston) Carroll of Chestnut Ridge, N.Y.; sisters, Charlotte Heavener of Polo and Debra (Tony) Wadsworth of Rockford; sister-in-law, Sandy Doeden of Polo; and grandchildren, Camri, Ross, and Makenzi Wolf, and Holden and Zoe Bua-Carroll.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, James Doeden.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Crossroads Community Church in Polo. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Polo. Polo Family Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.
