The Rock River Open Forum will show the DVD “The Corporation” in two parts at 6 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Rock Falls Public Library and at 6 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Sterling Public Library.

The film is 145 minutes and will be divided into two segments. Time will be dedicated to discuss and assimilate the informative content.

Forty corporate insiders and scholars, including Howard Zinn, Michael Moore, Noam Chomsky and Milton Friedman, offer their insights. The film is based on the book “The Corporation: The Pathological Pursuit of Profit and Power” by Joel Bakan.

Since the mid-1880s, a corporation has been considered a legal person. They have created unprecedented wealth, but at what costs? Those will be explored.

The presentations are open to the public at no charge.
