MORRISON – Raymond K. VanZuiden, 78, of 734 Milnes Drive, Morrison, died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Pleasant View Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Morrison. He worked as an agent and later partner at Maurits & Jost Insurance Agency in Morrison for 30 years.

Raymond was born Nov. 5, 1934, in Morrison, the son of Fred J. and Stella (VanOosten) VanZuiden. He was a veteran of the Air Force, serving during the Korean War. He married Virginia Schuler on June 10, 1957, in Morrison. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Morrison.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Cindy (Doug) LeMoine of Dubuque, Iowa, Shari (Kevin) Kuehl of Morrison, and  Becky (Rick) Riojas of Dixon; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Henrietta Johnson of Rockford and Margery Stichter of Rochelle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-grandson; one sister, Genevieve Wiersema-Richmond; and four brothers-in-law, Paul Wiersema, Frank Richmond, Edward Johnson, and William Stichter.

At his request, his body has been donated to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois for medical study. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Morrison, with the Rev. Michael Selburg, pastor, officiating.

A memorial has been established to First Presbyterian Church in Morrison.
