CLINTON, Iowa – A free series is being offered by Ashford University’s Scholars Institute honors program this year.

Each academic conference will be at 6 p.m. in St. Clare Hall Room C3600, the university’s former chapel. The university is at 400 N. Bluff Blvd. A reception will follow each program.

Duane Larson, an associate instructor who recently returned from a 2-week trip to the Middle East, will speak Feb. 19 about “Peace for Israel and Palestine?”

Lindsay Aiello, an Ashford student from Sterling, will present “Israel, Palestine and Peace: A Roundtable Discussion” on March 19 as part of her senior independent study.

Six students, three Republicans and three Democrats, each representing different parts of the country, will participate in a mock presidential debate April 16. The students from Alex Cohen’s political science class will be moderated by a panel of experts.

Senior students in the general education capstone class presented their research papers on Jan. 22. Savana student Theresa DeReus was among them.

Call Larry Libberton at 563-242-4032, ext. 7730, for more information about the series.
