LCARC to have radio license class

DIXON – The Lee County Amateur Radio Club will conduct an Amateur Radio Technician class for those interested in getting their first "ham" radio license.

The class is designed to prepare students for the Amateur Radio Technician exam offered March 3 at the Sterling Ham Fest. The test is a 15- to 30-minute multiple-choice exam.

The free class will be Feb. 9, 16, and 23 at Sauk Valley Community College, 173 state Route 2.

Each student is required to have a text book, which costs $22.46. There also is a testing fee of $15.
