LEE CENTER – Alta Eileen Morris, 96, of Lee Center, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center. She worked as a housekeeper for KSB Hospital in Dixon before retiring.

Alta was born Oct. 10, 1916, in Prosperity, Pa., the daughter of Albert and Emily (Grimm) Shriver. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Lee Center, where she was involved in the Ladies Circle and the Ladies Auxiliary. Alta also was a Rebecca and a member of Lee County Home Extension.

Survivors include three daughters, Donna (Sherman) Shaw of LaMoille, Sharon (Melvin) McNinch of Lee Center, and Shirley (Dale) Barlow of Amboy; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
