WALNUT – John Pogliano Sr., 91, of Walnut, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.

John was born on Aug. 15, 1921, in Coal City, the son of John and Vena (Stellone) Pogliano. He married Darlene Perry on March 2, 1946, at Immaculate Conception Church in Morris.

John was a lifelong farmer in the Coal City and Walnut areas and was a seed corn salesman since 1973. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Walnut.

He is survived by his wife; one son, John (Lana) Pogliano Jr. of Walnut; two daughters, Kathy Togliatti of Coal City and Mary (Steve) Bickett of Chicago; four grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Catholic Church, with the Rev. Tom Shaw, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery in Coal City.
