Lois M. Williams
DIXON – Lois M. Williams, the daughter of Charles and Clara Williams, was born Aug. 28, 1927, in Mendota. She died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Heritage Square in Dixon.
Her elementary and secondary education were in the Mendota area. She was a graduate of Taylor University in Upland, Ind., and attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago.
Lois was a teacher most of her life, starting in 1949 in a one-room country school, then moving to Wyoming, where she worked with Child Evangelism Fellowship for 9 years. She also taught second grade for 3 years at a public school on the Wind River Indian Reservation. In 1961, she returned to Illinois and taught second grade for 28 years in the Dixon public schools. She retired in 1989. Since retirement, she had done volunteer work for Child Evangelism Fellowship in various ministries and places.
