Dixon woman awaits double-lung transplant
DIXON – Elaine McKee has defied the odds.
McKee, 46, formerly of Mount Morris and now a resident of Dixon, has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and emphysema, or destruction of the lungs over time.
In late 2008, McKee was told she had about 2 years to live. On Nov. 21, 2008, she was placed on the lung transplant list.
