Columnist has good ideas on pension reform

Published: Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 1:15 a.m. CST

In regard to “Illinois needs to step away from pensions” printed Jan. 14 on the Opinion page, I wish Mr. Scott Reeder would take this 401(k) plan of his to Springfield. Those people could never think up something this good on their own. This would help a lot of people.

As for me and my wife, we don't have a pension. I am 85 and still working. I have been driving a school bus for almost 25 years, and most of my money goes for gas. I drive 130 miles a day to Yorkville and back.

Keep up the good work, Mr. Reeder.
