STERLING – Police are looking for whoever used a BB or pellet gun to shoot out the windows on several vehicles late Monday or early Tuesday.

The initial call came at 12:33 a.m. Tuesday from the 800 block of West Seventh Street. At least six vehicles were damaged between there and the 300 block of East Seventh, police said.

A car similar to a Chevrolet Cobalt was seen leaving the 800 block when the call was made. Police think the vandals may have used a Co2-powered BB gun.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sterling police at 815-632-6640 or the anonymous reward hotline, Crime Stoppers, at 815-625-7867.
