Sauk will host Alzheimer’s forum

DIXON – Registration is due Tuesday for the 2013 Alzheimer’s Association Legislative Priorities Event, which will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Sauk Valley Community College lecture hall 1K4.

Area leaders will discuss legislation, research and community projects related to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. On the agenda:

n Federal and state legislative priorities for this year.

n A legislative update by Judy Buchanan of the Alzheimer’s Association’s Illinois Chapter Network.

n Alzheimer’s research updates by Drs. Ken Fukuchi and Julia Biernot of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria.

n Safety services and community preparedness information by Nikki Vulgaris, executive director of Alzheimer’s Association, Central Illinois Chapter

n Updates from area legislators.
