Nativity scene: Why use Jesus to make trouble?
In response to all the letters being sent in concerning the Nativity scene on government building property, let's get this straight. No one is complaining about Nativity scenes in front of churches, and you are free to put what you want in front of your home. But you are not free to put what you want on someone else's property.
Government buildings belong to all the citizens, so you are, in fact, putting something politically or religiously motivated to push your own agenda on shared property belonging to Christians and non-Christians.
People wouldn't complain if people put up a Santa Claus scene, which would be for everyone's enjoyment, but why is it that so many people feel it is so important to put a Christian Nativity scene up, knowing it offends others? That doesn't seem like something Jesus would want.
