Firearm deer hunt this weekend
DIXON – The Park District is warning people using its trails to be aware of possible nearby gunfire from hunters.
Firearm deer season runs from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset this weekend.
Greg Hunter, the park district’s natural resources officer, said a few residents have been startled by gunfire on private properties near the trails to Lowell Park, and another resident saw deer stands close to the trail.
