PCHS names Student of the Month

Senior Abbie Boward, 17, is Polo Community High School’s November Student of the Month. Her parents are Amy and Johnny Boward, and she has a brother, Josh, 15, and a sister, Natalie, 10.

Favorite actor: Adam Sandler.

Favorite movie: “A Walk to Remember.”

Favorite singer: Kelly Clarkson.

Favorite class: Psychology. I liked learning how the human mind works and how certain disorders can change brain activity.

Top teacher: JoAnne Kaminski. She takes her time making sure each student understands the material being taught. She also is a very caring person.

Extracurriculars: Softball, cheerleading, and wrestling stats.

After graduation: I plan to attend the University of Dubuque to major in nursing.

Paycheck: I am a lifeguard at the Sterling- Rock Falls Family YMCA. I enjoy working around the pool area.

Best friend: Keynon Janicke.

Favorite food: Steak.

Biggest fear: Snakes.

Least favorite class: History.

Survival guide: I need family, friends, water, food, and electricity to survive.

I’m in the dictionary next to: Caring.

People say I look like: Lauren Conrad. We both are very laid-back people, but we know when it’s time to be serious and get things done.

Dream job: Nurse.

Trading Spaces: Paris, because it always has been a dream to see the different cultures and all the neat buildings.
