Girls roundup: Comets come back to clip Amboy
Sterling, Dixon lose NIB-12 crossover games; Rockets fall to Lutheran
After playing from behind most of the game Saturday, the Newman Comets rallied to pick up a Three Rivers girls basketball win on the road, beating the Amboy Clippers 39-36.
The Comets (12-8, 8-2) trailed 29-25 entering the fourth quarter, then outscored the Clippers (11-8, 4-5) 14-7 over the final 8 minutes. Rachel Hageman had 13 points and five rebounds, and Mary Alice Oswalt added nine points and four steals.
Brooke Lovgren and Autumn Smith paced Amboy with nine points apiece.
