Utility bills a negative, says former resident

The utility bill is the reason we moved our family out of Rock Falls. How nice of them to “label” their customers as deadbeats when every month they find some new adjustment or service fee to tack onto the bill.

I swear, there were so many “extra” charges or fees on the bill, it could be a bill within itself. Oh, and their utility office is not exactly the nicest office to walk into and discuss a bill with.

What about the people who have lost their jobs, have a medical illness, have a family emergency, etc.?

Yes, we should not make excuses for everyone, but Rock Falls is not the prime place for stable jobs right now. I think the city needs to check itself before it goes out labeling households, and maybe they should worry about cracking down on drug use and not pay a police officer to patrol on city ordinances all day long for petty stuff.

Maybe there wouldn’t be so many houses up for sale in Rock Falls if the utility bills were not so high, or if the police actually concentrated on what is important and not “petty” stuff, and tried to turn the town around.

I am so glad we are out of that town, and we will never recommend anyone to live there.

I can’t wait to see how many more houses go up for sale after their nice article in the paper.

The city is just driving more and more people away.
